This study tried to investigate pragmatic competence in Iran’s 2013 presidential election candidates. The data were collected from the recorded video of a live TV program at the Fararu news source by sampling the third debate. At first, the researchers employed Austin’s (1962) and Searle’s (1975) theory to extract types of speech act strategies used by the candidates. Then, the study used the Pearson chi-square formula to examine the frequency of speech acts types. Moreover, the present study compared types of locutionary, illocutionery, and perlocutionary speech acts used by candidates with the poll outcomes issued by press media, in order to achieve the assumption that speech acts might have a great effect on election’s outcomes. It found three kinds of locutionary acts: declarative, imperative and interrogative. Also, it found five kinds of illocutionary acts used by some candidates: declarative, representative, directive, expressive, and commissive. Consequently, the candidates were almost equally in using locutionary acts, but they were permanently different in illocutionary acts. Finally, in terms of perlocutionary acts, the candidates were mostly intended to get the hearers know by their assertion, explanation, clarification, argumentation, etc

The world of wireless communications is governed by a wide variety of the standards, each tailored to its specific applications and targets. The IEEE802.11 family is one of those standards which is specifically created and maintained by IEEE committee to im-plement the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) communication. By notably rapid growth of devices which exploit the WLAN technology and increasing demand for rich multimedia functionalities and broad Internet access, the WLAN technology should be necessarily enhanced to support the required specifications. In this regard, IEEE802.11ac, the latest amendment of the WLAN technology, was released which is taking advantage of the previous draft versions while benefiting from certain changes especially to the PHY layer to satisfy the promised requirements. This thesis evaluates the feasibility of software-based implementation for the MIMO transmitter baseband processing conforming to the IEEE802.11ac standard on a DSP core with vector extensions. The transmitter is implemented in four different transmis-sion scenarios which include 2x2 and 4x4 MIMO configurations, yielding beyond 1Gbps transmit bit rate. The implementation is done for the frequency-domain pro-cessing and real-time operation has been achieved when running at a clock fre-quency of 500MHz. The developed software solution is evaluated by profiling and analysing the imple-mentation using the tools provided by the vendor. We have presented the results with regards to number of clock cycles, power and energy consumption, and memory usage. The performance analysis shows that the SDR based implementation provides improved flexibility and reduced design effort compared to conventional approaches while main-taining power consumption close to fixed-function hardware solutions

Embryonic stem cells (ESCs) are pluripotent, self-renewing cells. These cells can be used in applications such as cell therapy, drug discovery, disease modelling, and the study of cellular differentiation. In this experimental study embryonic stem cells cultured in the laboratory and were amplified. Total RNA was extracted from cells and converted to cDNA. The replication factor Oct3/4 gene was amplified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and cloned into the pTZ57R/T vector. Legated product had been transformed into susceptible bacteria and transformed bacteria were screened on a selective medium. Plasmids extracted from bacteria and enzyme digestion to confirm the sequencing was performed. Results of enzyme digestion were sequenced. Cloned gene can prepare a gene cassette to produce stem cells from somatic cell

OBJECTIVES: Intracerebral injection of bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) is being investigated as a therapeutic tool to prevent Alzheimer's disease (AD). Our aim was to investigate the effects of BMSCs by intrathecal injection in AD rat model. MATERIALS AND METHODS: BMSCs were obtained from the bone marrow of Wistar rat and transplanted into AD rat model via intrathecal injection. The rat model had received an injection of β amyloid into the hippocampus for histological and immunohistochemical studies. RESULTS: Histological examination of the brains in transplanted rats compared to controls demonstrated the migration of BrdU-labeled BMSCs from the site of delivery, confirmed the differentiation of BMSCs transplanted cells into the cholinergic neurons, and increased number of healthy and decreased number of dark neurons. CONCLUSION: Our results showed that BMSCs intratechal administration could be a promising method for treatment of Alzheimer's disease in rat model

Todays, Climate change can be effect on the intensity of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and cause of many human diseases. In this cross-sectional study, changes of the intensity of UV ray were associated with the changes in latitude and longitude, height, climatic conditions, natural and human-made artifacts. Given that the highest radiation intensity was at the beginning of the summer, the radiation rate of UV ray in Mashhad was measured in the summer using a Hagner radiometer, the UV-A model. The radiation rate of the UV ray was determined in 2000 stations, which were 5 km far from each other. Data were analyzed using SPSSv16 software, T-test, and ANOVA tests. The results of this study showed that the radiation rate of UV ray in Mashhad was 0.49±0.143 mSv per year. The findings showed that latitudinal and longitudinal changes did not have a significant effect on the intensity of UV radiation (P > 0.001). The changes in the height above the sea level influenced the irradiance rate of UV and increasing the height above the sea level raised UV radiation (P < 0.001). Human artifacts significantly changed the rate of UV radiation (P < 0.001). Cloudy, semi-cloudy and sunny conditions had the most effects on UV radiation (P < 0.001). The results revealed that the average rate of UV ray in Mashhad was below the global standard (10 W/m2 for UV ray), and traffic in open air could not be risky. Microorganisms live almost everywhere, they are even present on inanimate objects such as Mobile phones, as a result contaminates our body. The main purpose of this study was tantamount to compare microbial contamination of keypad and touch screen mobile cell phones between hospital and non-hospital staffs. Samples were collected from 456 cell phones of hospital and non-hospital. Microbial swab samples were taken from 1 cm2 of surface from each cell phone, and incubated on Brain Heart Infusion agar media at 37.5 °C for 24 h. Isolated microorganisms were grown aerobically on 55% defibrinated Sheep Blood and eosin methylene blue agar media at 37.5 °C for 48 h. In present study the antibiotic microorganism-resistant could not be observed. Overall, 456 cell phones were collected: 240 (52.63%) from hospital staff (nurses), 216 (47.36%) from non-hospital staff (health care worker outside the hospital). The result indicates that the bacterial contamination of phones used by all of different investigated groups was lower in touch screen devices than keypad devices and the contamination was found more in hospital staff cellphone than non-hospital staff׳s cell device. Woman׳s cell also has a few colonies rather than man׳s cell phones. The dominant microorganisms in the hospital staff were, Enterobacteriaceae, Bacillus species, especially Gram-positive bacteria sporulated and staphylococcal negative coagulase, respectively. Cell phones could be a serious threat to the spread of cross-infection in hospitals, therefore development of hand hygiene and cell phone cleaning guidelines is needed regarding public cell phone use. Abstract Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease that was characterized with deposit of beta amyloid (Aβ) aggregate in senile plaque. Oxidative damage to neurons and loss of cholinergic neurons in forebrain region are observed in this disease. Melissa officinalis is a medicinal plant from Lamiaceae family, used traditionally in the treatment of cognitive disorders. It has cholinomimetic and potent antioxidant activity. In the present study, we investigated the possible neuroprotective effects of total ethanolic extract, acidic and nonacidic fraction of Melissa officinalis on Aβ-induced cytotoxicity and oxidative stress in PC12 cells and also measured their in-vitro anticholinesterase activity. PC12 cells were incubated with the extract and fractions prior to the incubation with Aβ and cell toxicity was assessed by MTT assay. In addition, productions of reactive oxygen species (ROS), Malondialdehyde (MDA) as a biomarker of lipid peroxidation and glutathione peroxidase activity were measured. Pretreatment of cells with total extract and acidic fraction (not non-acidic fraction) had protective effect against Aβ-induced oxidative changes and cell death. In concentrations in which both total extracts of an acidic fraction showed neuroprotective effects, inhibition of cholinesterase activity was not significant. Then, the protective effects of Melissa officinalis total extract and acidic fraction were not attributed to their anticholinesterase activity. Acidic fraction showed more potent protective effect compared to the total extract, leading to the fact that polyphenolic compounds and terpenoic acids are the most effective components in the total extract concentrated in this fraction
